What we collect
Almost nothing. Meridiela has no accounts, no logins and no comment forms. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not run third-party tracking scripts.
Newsletter
If you join the newsletter, we store the email address you give us with our email provider and use it for that one weekly email and nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address.
Server logs
The site is served as static files by our hosting provider, which keeps standard aggregate request logs (page requested, rough location, browser type) for security and traffic counting. We use those only to see which pages are being read.
Links out
Pages link to official sites of parks, museums and municipalities, and to photo sources for image credits. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Images
The illustrations on place and country pages are Meridiela's own work, drawn with the help of image tools from reference photographs of the real places. Where a reference photograph came from an external source, it is listed on the image credits page. If you would like to reuse one of our images, you are welcome to - a link back to the page it came from is appreciated.
